Merry Christmas

Thursday, December 25, 2008

To those of you that celebrate Christmas, I hope things are going well and that you are having a great day.

There are many great Bible verses, but as we get ready for a new administration, this one has been on my mind:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God--Matthew 5:9

Personally, I think that is a great verse to sum up the day--and hopefully the new admin. Thanks, Steve.

Merry Christmas!

Anybody crack some special beers over the holiday? I know I did... I had a bottle of Rochefort 10 that had been aging for close to 2 years now. it was to die for, very possibly the BEST beer I have ever had, all molasses and plums, apricots, a bit of black peppercorn even. I also opened my bottle of Westmalle Trippel (I was on a Trappist kick, thought monk-brewed beer was appropriate for a Christian holiday) and unfortunately was thoroughly underwhelmed... I have a 2nd Christmas gathering tomorrow, I believe there is a bottle of Dragon's Milk calling my name for that!

Corsendonk Christmas Wednesday night and N'Ice Chouffe last night.

Both very solid, but I can't say they blew my doors off. I fear that a year's worth of Double IPAing and Imperial Stouting has dulled my tastebuds a bit.

American beer, baby. Like everything else we do, it ain't subtle.
