Can THIS FINALLY Be Love?

Tuesday, August 07, 2007

Iiiiiiiiii....am not ever so sure how I feel about stuff like this.

I mean, I love Van Halen and all. The David Lee Roth years were so spectacular. While poppier, the Sammy Hagar years were fun and their audience soared. But then they had that one guy from that one band I forget and several failed attempts at reuniting.

And then there's that pic of Eddie Van Halen at the music awards:

So are they really in shape for an American Tour?

Wow, so Hagar is out? Interesting. I imagine Van Halen is Van Halen, though, and this will still be great.

Wow, he's lookin' pretty rough. Valerie must have really done a number on him. Little Minx...

I heard their divorce was pretty rough. Over the years, I have seen a variety of 'older bands.' Some have been very good, such as Aerosmith and Styx. Some have been absolute crap, such as BTO. If I had to make a prediction, I'd say that VH falls closer to the later category.

So with no Hagar, I'm guessing that effects which songs they would play on the tour...

And as far as age goes--If the Stones can still tour then damn well so can Van Halen.

I don't think we can judge ANYONE using the Stones as a baseline.

Keith Richards actually died in 1976 of a massive cocaine overdose. But when Death came to get him, Keith was snorting someone's ashes, and Death said "forget this, I ain't TOUCHING that guy".

(If you don't know what I'm talking about, google "Keith Richards snorts ashes", and see what pops up)

Fine by me. I wouldn't want to hear anything after "Diver Down" anyway.

50 dates seems a bit ambitious for roth's vocal cords...

And the kid? The kid is playing bass? That freaks me out.
