Video of the Week #8: Democrats for Romney
Monday, January 14, 2008
While I am still a strong supporter of ATK's favorite Democrat "Uncommitted", the following video offers a different opportunity for Michigan Democrats, instead of voting on this year's truncated Democratic ticket.
Funny stuff…
UPDATE 1: While I think it was a funny video worth posting, it seems that some folks over at Kos are actually making a campaign of this. Our illustrious leader Smitty has done a fine job debunking this "strategy". over at Mr. Furious.

Classic
Besides what Smitty has been saying over at Mr. Furious, I still think it is pretty classless to vote for the sole purpose of messing up the 'other side.' I guess it would serve the Dems right if they got their asses handed to them on the state level.
Sorry, I just spent the last half hour reading the comments over on Kos and there rank near the top on the 'Stupid-Shit-O-Meter.'
"Besides what Smitty has been saying over at Mr. Furious, I still think it is pretty classless to vote for the sole purpose of messing up the 'other side.'"
I totally agree. This is also why we cannot vote on both tickets.
Voters also need to be careful what they wish for. I can see a bunch of Democrats going out and voting for the candidate they perceive as the easiest to beat, and then that guy ends up becoming President.
It's still a funny video.
Please, please please, nobody vote anything other than "uncommitted" or "Hillary." Don't don't don't do this Dems-for-Mitt thing.
I don't think this video was created by a group that actually wants people to vote for Romney. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this was put together by one of the other candidates' teams.
Democrats actually looking to embarass the GOP would probably look to Huckabee; he's probably the weakest candidate in a general election (compared to McCain, Romney, and Giuliani). Hence the "Democrats for Huckabee" organization created by Lamar Lemmons III.
You mean people are taking this shit seriously? I just thought it was a funny video.
It is a funny video, but there also seem to be a fair number of people that are really advocating voting for Mitt to stir some shit up.
"Please, please please, nobody vote anything other than "uncommitted" or "Hillary."
What if I really wanted to pick a Republican candidate?
The only reason I don't feel bad for the Republicans is that the whole early primary was the brainchild of GOP party chairman Saul Anuzis. So if Michigan's non-existant delegates go to Uncommitted and Ron Paul, I would find that amusing.
"What if I really wanted to pick a Republican candidate?"
Then vote for the one that will fuck up the country least, not the one a Democrat can beat.
I would pick McCain for that.

Nobody will stop you. I was referring specifically to anyone considering the strategy that you, Mr. Furious and I debated all damn weekend.
I see. I just wanted to make sure. I vote republican more often than democrat, but I am not happy with the direction that the so called 'neo-con' wing is taking the party. The only republican that is willing to buck that trend is Ron Paul and he has some other issues.
At this point in time, I just think that a democratic president is better for the country, so I doubt I will vote for a republican this time.

Lemmons is a whole other story, but I don't think Huckabee is necessarily the weakest. I think he brings out an extreme voting block that the Dems wouldn't be ready for. Although the non-Christian backlash would probably be huge.
I am looking forward to Lemar Lemmons IV (Yes, the 4th) being sworn in as State Rep.
